#Inaugural Speech: I Belong To Nobody, I Will End Boko Haram and Rescue Chibok Girls - Buhari
Nigeria's newly sworn-in president, Muhammadu Buhari has WARNED again that he belongs to nobody but EVERYBODY. The president said this during his inaugural speech at the Eagle Square after he was sworn in. I am immensely grateful to God, today marks a triumph for Nigeria, - he said.
He also hailed the outgoing president, Goodluck Jonathan and acknowledged the social media for making his efforts come through.
Here are some of the key points he also made;
“I intend to keep my oath and serve as president to everybody
He says the military's command centre will move to Maiduguri until Boko Haram is defeated.
“I will not permit corruption at all levels of government as far as the constitution allows me.
“We cannot claim to have defeated Boko Haram without rescuing the #ChibokGirls and all other innocent persons held hostage by the Boko Harram.
“We will guard against every form of human right violation,” - he said.
Buhari has stated it very clearly that the Niger delta amnesty program will end by December. This he said in his inaugural speech where he also said Nigerians will not regret entrusting responsibility to his administration.
That there will be no settling of old scores as the past is gone. He belongs to nobody but belongs to everybody as he's here to serve all Nigerians. Traditional and Social Media should exercise its powers responsibly.
Then on Boko Haram, President Buhari said Boko Haram is as far away from Islam as one can think
of. And then revealed that the operational base for the fight against Boko Haram will be moved from Abuja to the north eastern affected states with immediate effect. We shall overhaul rules of engagement as we tackle Boko Haram, - he said.
Buhari stated it categorically that he won't fold his hands and watch state governors act reckless in their respective states. Gross corruption even at the Local Government level shall be checked.
He also thanked former President Goodluck Jonathan for making Nigerians everywhere proud of Nigeria.
