PDP Accuses President Buhari Of Appropriating Goodluck Jonathan’s Achievements

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) against appropriating its achievements under former President Goodluck Jonathan.

In a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh, the PDP charged President Muhammadu Buhari to activate the various economic outlets, which it alleged have been stagnated.

The PDP described as unfortunate that the APC, whichcame to power on claims of high moral ground, rather than focusing on delivering its promises, has been claiming glory for the achievements of the previous government.

PDP Officials Squandered ₦12billion in Nine Months – Workers


Workers of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) have accused the members of the National Working Committee of the party of squandering ₦12billion in nine months.

Out of the total sum, the workers said ₦11billion was realised from the sale of nomination forms while ₦1billion accrued from the sale of delegates forms.

PDP is Financially Down, Sets To Sack About 50% of Their Work Force


The loss of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the last general elections few months ago seem to have affected the party financially as it is set to reduce its work force by 50%.

Punch reports that the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party has concluded plans to sack half of its workforce.

Towards this end, National Secretary of the party, Prof. Wale Oladipo, has communicated the decision of the NWC to all its directors.

Dead People Voted in Ohafia, Abia State - APGA


The Abia-North senatorial candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in the April legislative election, Chief David -Bourdex, has told the election petitions tribunal sitting in Umuahia that dead people voted in Ohafia.

Onuoha-Bourdex, who stated this while testifying before the tribunal on Tuesday, said that the results of the election which favoured the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, showed that dead people voted for him.

PDP Statements Now Sound Like Side Talks And Beer Parlour Gossip – APC


The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) as a party cannot provide any worthwhile opposition to the APC-led Federal Government if its spokesman continues to issue convoluted and fustian statements just so that he can be in the news.
“Today’s statement is the most tortuous yet by the PDP and, honestly, sounds more like a compendium of beer parlour gossips and side talks than a serious criticism of a sitting government,” – the APC said in a statement issued in Lagos state on Sunday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed.

Bukola Saraki, Ike Ekweremadu Will Be Impeached Next Week – Senator Marafa


Senator Kabiru Marafa has disclosed that the Nigeria’s Senate President, Bukola Saraki, his deputy, Ike Ekweremadu and other principal officers in the Senate leadership would be impeached on Tuesday, July 28.

Senator Marafa made the disclosure while reacting to the alleged plans to suspend pro-Ahmed Lawan senators.

“Who is Senate leadership? There is nothing like that in the 8th Senate. What you have is a group of persons occupying those offices against the rules of the Senate and the Nigerian Nation! Tell them dem no fit!.” – he told Vanguard.

According to him, Bukola Saraki and his three colleagues were occupying illegal offices that according to him, would soon be swept off their feet.

Don’t Embark On ‘Selective Probing’ – PDP Tells President Buhari


National Publicity Secretary of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olisa Metuh, on Thursday urged the Federal Government to probe every corrupt politician and not be selective in the exercise.

“We expect the President Muhammadu Buhari’s government not to embark on ‘selective probing’ of public office holders found wanting before or during his government,’’ – he said.

President Buhari is Treating Our Members as Criminals – PDP Cries Out


The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Tuesday cried out that the ruling All Progressives Congress-led Federal Government under President Muhammadu Buhari had been treating members of the main opposition party as ‘criminal and prisoners of war.’

The PDP National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh, accused Buhari’s government of engaging in witch-hunt of PDP members under the pretext that it was probing acts of corruption.

A statement by the Kogi State government on Tuesday quoted Metuh as speaking while addressing PDP stakeholders in Lokoja, the state capital.

Olusegun ObasanJo Reveals His Political Role Model


Former Nigeria’s President, Olusegun Obasanjo has said that he believed in the political philosophy of the first Federal Minister of Social Services and Natural Resources, Adegoke Adelabu popularly called ‘Penkelemesi’, describing him as his political role model.

Obasanjo said the political philosophy of the late politician was devoid of ethnic and tribal considerations, but focused on a united Nigeria.

Expect “shocking revelations” of The Past Government In The Coming Weeks – APC


The All Progressives Congress (APC) has asked Nigerians to expect “shocking revelations” of the past government in the coming weeks and months.

In a statement issued in Lagos State on Sunday by Lai Mohammed, national publicity secretary of the party, APC accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of distorting the facts about the source of the $2.1 billion that President Muhammadu Buhari approved for sharing among the three tiers of government.

Stop Deceiving Nigerians – PDP State Chairmen Tells Buhari


Chairmen of State branches of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have asked President Muhammadu Buhari to stop deceiving Nigerians about the true source of the bailout he recently granted to the states of the federation for the purpose of paying workers who are being owed salaries for months.

EFCC Begins To Probe Ex-Governor Godswill Akpabio Administration


The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has begun investigation into alleged theft of ₦108.1billion of Akwa-Ibom state funds by former Governor Godswill Akpabio.

The action followed a petition forwarded to the commission by an Abuja-based lawyer and activist, Leo Ekpenyong.
