Husband Sue Wife To Court For Fraud After Seeing Her Without Make-up For The First Time Ever

A man is apparently suing his newly wedded wife for the deep distress she caused when he saw her without makeup for the first time. According to Yahoo! News, the husband made the shocking discovering the morning after their wedding in Algeria.

He was allegedly so stunned by his wife’s natural appearance, he didn’t believe he was in bed with the same person he married.

The man reportedly said she looked so different, he was under the impression a stranger had come to “steal his apartment.” A source told Emirates 247, “He said he was deceived by her as she used to fill up her face with make-up before their marriage. He said she looked very beautiful and attractive before marriage, but when he woke up in the morning and found that she had washed the (makeup) off her face, he was frightened as he thought she was a thief.”

President Buhari Sacks Joseph Dawha as GMD of NNPC, Appoints Emmanuel Kachikwu

President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Dr. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu as the Group Managing Director (GMD) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

Kachikwu, who was until his appointment, the Executive Vice Chairman/General Counsel of ExxonMobil (Africa) replaces Dr. Joseph Thlama Dawha as the NNPC chief.

According to a statement by Mr. Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President, Dr. Kachikwu hails from Onicha-Ugbo in Delta State.

Chad on Friday said its troops have killed 117 Boko Haram fighters in an operation against the extremists holed up on the islands of Lake Chad.

“117 terrorists have been killed, two Chadian soldiers died and two others were wounded in the operation against the Nigeria-based movement, which began two weeks ago, Reuters quoted the Chadian army spokesman, Col. Azem Bermendoa Agouna, as saying on the issue.
“For two weeks, Boko Haram terrorists have been trying to infiltrate our islands on Lake Chad to carry out attacks on peaceful citizens,” – he said, adding that military operations were ongoing.

Man Commits Suicide, After He Caught His Wife with Her Lover, in Bayelsa State

A 32-year-old man, On Tuesday in Yenagoa, committed suicide after drinking an insecticide, known as ‘Sniper’, after he learned that his wife was having an extra-marital affair at Ikolo in Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

The deceased, identified as Amatari Christmas, was married to Tombara, an indigene of Ayama in the same local government area. They have two children.

Fire Outbreak Roasted Three Girls From Same Parents in Mechanic Village, Lagos State

Three children of the same parents were killed in an early morning inferno on Friday in a community at Isolo area of Lagos.

The Director, Lagos State Fire Services, Mr Rasak Fadipe, said in Lagos that three children, all females, were aged five, seven and twelve.

Armed Robbers Stormed ‘First Bank’ in Kogi State, Kills Two Policemen

A First Bank branch in Okene, Kogi state was today, Friday, July 31 robbed by five armed men, leaving two policemen dead.

The robbers were said to have stormed the bank premises around 8:55.am, shooting sporadically to create a panic atmosphere as workers and customers simmered.

According to the state’s Police Public Relations Officer in Kogi state, Shola Adebayo; one of the police officers was shot dead, while the other died as he was being transported to the hospital.

He said investigations into the attack has commenced.

It was gathered that the man who claimed to be 26-years-old, was caught with the bicycle which belong to a resident and when he could not explain how he came about the bike, the mob descended on him, beating him till he lost consciousness before he was burnt to death.

PDP is Financially Down, Sets To Sack About 50% of Their Work Force

The loss of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the last general elections few months ago seem to have affected the party financially as it is set to reduce its work force by 50%.

Residents of Itu Road, Uyo, the Akwa-Ibom State capital, on Wednesday, woke to a horror sight, following the murder of Daniel Bassey Solomon, a middle-aged barber by a close family friend and supposed boss identified as Steven Onowa, a graduate of Federal Polytechnic Oko, from Anambra State. Onowa has since been arrested by the Police in Akwa Ibom.

Confessing to the crime, Onowa said, he invited the deceased to his house for an urgent meeting and drugged his beer. He added that at about 3:00am he decided to kill him. Onowa said what infuriated him was that the deceased shouted on him when he asked for the ₦750,000 he was owing him.

30-year-old Man Arrested For Stealing His 4-year-old Daughter in Lagos State

There was drama at Ejigbo Magistrates’ court after a 30-year-old man identified as Segun Omotola, was arrested for stealing a 4-year-old girl identified as Titilayo Omotayo Omotola, who turned out to be the father of the girl in question in Lagos State, western Nigeria.

The police at Ejigbo division arrested Segun Omotola and charged him before the court with stealing Titilayo Omotayo Omotola.

Boko Haram Slaughtered Ten Fishermen Near Lake Chad

Boko Haram Islamists cuts-off the throat of ten fishermen in villages near Baga, on the shores of the Lake Chad in northeastern Nigeria, – a leading fisherman and a resident said Thursday.

“On Monday around 4.pm (1500 GMT), Boko Haram attacked three villages on the shores of Lake Chad where they slaughtered ten people, all of them fishermen,” – Abubakar Gamandi, head of the fishermen’s union in Borno State, told AFP.

The account was confirmed by a local fisherman, Buhari Dan-Malam.

The leaders of Nigeria and Cameroon pledged on Thursday (today) to improve the exchange of intelligence and security cooperation along their border in a bid to tackle Nigerian Islamist militant group Boko Haram.

Concluding his first visit to Cameroon since he was elected as president in March, Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari and his Cameroonian counterpart Paul Biya voiced support in a joint statement for a planned multinational task force to fight Boko Haram, which has sworn allegiance to Islamic State.

A 92-year-old woman who had been declared dead suddenly woke up screaming inside a freezing mortuary.

Prosecutors in Germany have charged a doctor with negligent bodily harm after he mistook the woman for dead.

The 53-year-old doctor pronounced the seriously ill woman dead in March after a care worker found her without a pulse and not breathing at a retirement home. Her body was taken to the Munstermann funeral parlour in Berlin where it was placed in a refrigerated room.

Port Harcourt and Warri Refineries Begins Crude Production – NNPC

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has announced the successful re-streaming of the Port Harcourt and Warri refineries after nine months of phased rehabilitation conducted by its in-house engineers and technicians.

The national oil company made the announcement on Wednesday through a statement.

It said the plants had commenced preliminary production of petroleum products after successful test-runs, noting that while the Port Harcourt Refining Company was ramping up capacity to about 60 per cent of the 210,000 barrels per day of crude capacity, production from the Warri Refining and Petrochemical Company had been projected to hit 80 per cent of its installed capacity 125,000 barrels per day.
