Acting Affected My Studies — Grace Amah
Nollywood actress, Grace Amah, is actually an old face in the Nigerian movie industry. Grace has been in the business of interpreting scripts for over a decade and from what we gathered, Grace is not showing any sign of quitting the industry anytime soon.
In a recent interview, the nollywood actress, recalling her journey into the make-believe world, she stated that she went into acting while she was awaiting her JAMB result after she had walked into a popular celebrity hangout and met a movie star.
Grace said her parents were first not happy with her decision to go into movie acting, because they wanted her to be a medical doctor or a lawyer.
Grace explained that her love for acting affected her studies in school, when she had tried to study law at the university.
“My parents were not favourably disposed to my going into the acting world. They preferred I was a medical doctor or lawyer and I made attempts to read law but the urge for the acting profession did not allow me concentrate.
“However, my parents have come to embrace and support my career choice and they are happy with the outcome. It is only natural that parents would react negatively to things they do not understand but when they see the positive dividends of such work, they will appreciate and give their support,” - she told Daily Times.
