11 Dead, Others Injured as Bomb Blast Hits Market on Sunday in Damaturu, Yobe State

A bomb blasted in crowded market at Damaturu on sunday (this morning), killing at least 11 people and injuring dozens.

According to an eyewitnesses, the explosion occurred at around 9:30am. Security personnel were seen evacuating corpses and the injured after the bomb blast.

Security operatives at the scene of the explosion included; soldiers, policemen, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, Federal Road Safety Corps and Nigeria Fire Service.

This comes six days after a suicide bomber killed three policemen at a checkpoint on the outskirts of the city, which is the capital of Yobe State.
