A middle aged man in Utonkon Obarike, Oturkpo Local Government Area of Benue State, on Monday beheaded another middle aged man from Obi, Obi Local Government Area also in Benue State.
Findings revealed that the incident happened in the early hours of Monday in the late man’s compound.
Though, our correspondents could not get the names of the two men as of the time of filling in this report, the Police Public Relations Officer, Austin Ezeani, confirmed the incident, saying the matter was currently being investigated by the Oturkpo Area Division of the command.
Ezeani alleged that the gory incident happened as a result of land dispute between the two of them.
A native of Obi, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, alleged that he was among those that apprehended the suspected murderer.
The source explained that when they interrogated the suspect, he confessed that he wanted to use the deceased’s head for ritual.
